Rafael Braga (Rafa), PT, DPT, CSCS

Rafa is a physical therapist who brings experience practicing in outpatient and sports rehab settings in the East Coast (New Jersey/New York).

He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education from Saint Peters University in 2015 and his Doctorate Degree from New York University (NYU) in 2020. 

During his time at NYU Physical Therapy Department, Rafa was fortunate enough to observe and work with a wide range of people, from settings such as skilled nursing facilities to professional athletes in NYC area. Rafa also had the privilege of observing physical therapist’s in Israel, where he was able to see professional olympic athletes recover from injury and prepare for 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

During his time at Saint Peters University, Rafa was a D1 Men’s Soccer collegiate athlete for the Peacocks and captained his side for 3 of the 4 seasons he attended. His first season, Rafa was forced to red shirt due to tearing his ACL his senior year of high school, which is where he grew a passion for physical therapy. 

He brings experience both as a therapist and as a patient, due to his experiences rehabbing his knee and returning to collegiate sports.  Rafa’s mission in physical therapy is to return patient’s to their full functional capability as quickly as possible, and more importantly, achieve as much independence as possible with their daily activities.

Rafa enjoys treating patients of all levels and ages - from weekend warriors, high school/college athletes and even patient’s who just have difficulty putting on their socks! 

He is a lifelong Manchester United supporter, who grew up in Northern NJ/Manhattan region and enjoys playing/watching soccer, spending time with his wife, dog and extended family members over the weekends.
